The free YouTube licence

Want to try a song on a beat before paying for it? The free YouTube licence lets you, legally.

How to get it

1
Open the beat’s full page. Every beat has a full page with all its licence options.
2
Choose the free YouTube licence. Read the short agreement, tick that you agree, and sign with your name. You’ll need a free account.
3
Download the tagged MP3. It has the producer tag in it, and the tag stays in your song.

What it covers

  • Writing your song to the beat, on the site’s Writing Pad.
  • Posting it as a regular video on your own YouTube channel.

What it doesn’t

  • Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, or any other streaming service.
  • Any distributor (DistroKid, TuneCore and so on), or selling the song.
Credit and Content ID. Put “Prod By EPIK THE DAWN” in the video title and a link to epikbeats.net in the description. The beat stays in YouTube’s Content ID, so the video’s ad money goes to the producer. That’s the trade for it being free, so don’t dispute the claim.

When the song’s ready for streaming, buy a paid licence on that beat. You get untagged files, and your video can be cleared from Content ID.
