Release-week checklist: 8 things to do before your song comes out
Most songs don’t fail because they’re bad. They fail because release week was an afterthought.
Run through this before your next release. Tick things off as you go. Your ticks are saved on this device, so you can come back to the list.

The two that matter most
Timing your upload. Distributors need time to deliver your song to every store, and Spotify only accepts editorial pitches for songs that are already delivered and still unreleased. Uploading the week before release day locks you out of the pitch. Three to four weeks gives you room.
Registering the song. It’s the step everyone skips, and the one that pays for years. Registration is what lets the songwriting royalties (the ones your distributor doesn’t pay) actually find you.
After release day
Keep posting. Most songs grow in the weeks after release, not on day one, especially if you keep making short videos of the hook and replying to everyone who comments.
